Feeling good can come down to
making the right choices for yourself and the world around you.
The Boys & Girls Club of
Souhegan Valley invites you to celebrate healthy choices and a sustainable
environment at their second annual Healthy Communities event on September 19,
2013 from 4-6:30 p.m.
Healthy Communities will feature
local vendors that will showcase the many ways you and your family can eat
healthy, recycle, and understand your environmental impact. Kids can also
forward to special prizes this year.
Vendors include Community Action
for Safe Teens, Milford Police, Milford Fire Department, Milford Ambulance,
Beaver Brook Association, bigpicwellness, Skillings & Sons, Comfort Zone
Therapeutic Massage, H20 Waste Disposal Services, Manchester food Coop, Julies
Happy Hens, Envirotek USA, Naturally Clean and more!
The Boys & Girls Club has made it a point to keep your children
healthy through its many active programs, and wants the whole community
to learn about healthy lifestyle choices.
“We want to continue supporting
healthy lifestyle choices, which we feel is a crucial part of the local
community,” said Director of Marketing & Outreach Kevin Salemi. “Promoting
these choices goes hand-in-hand with our mission to enhance the quality of life
for kids and adults.”
The Boys & Girls Club of
Souhegan Valley has an arsenal of programs that help develop fitness, a
positive use of leisure time, reduction of stress, appreciation for the
environment and social and interpersonal skills.
Programs include a Healthy Habits
Program that teach kids how to cook more nutritious food options, sports
programs that include their exciting rock climbing wall and environmental
programs that get the kids out and exploring the world around them. Thrill-seekers can also look forward to skiing and snowboarding this winter with
the Xtreme Team program coming
this winter.
Skillings & Sons, Inc., Triangle Credit Union, and
Envirotek USA are sponsoring this free event this year. All proceeds from
Healthy Communities will support health and fitness programs at The Boys &
Girls Club of Souhegan Valley.
