Boys & Girls Club’s Charity Golf Classic NEW and IMPROVED!

Golfers are invited to dust off those clubs and hit the course on Friday, May 17th, 2013 for the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley Charity Golf Classic at Amherst Country Club.  Registration starts at 11:30am with a tee off at 12:15pm.  The scramble format tournament will be followed by a dinner reception, auction, and comedy show for $650 per foursome or $175 per golfer.  All proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley.

Current sponsors include Alene Candles, Hitchiner Manufacturing, Edward Jones Investments, Cirtronics Corporation, Clearview Software, Contemporary Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Division 5 Metals, LLC, Hanover Insurance, JP Pest Services. Join this wonderful group of community supporters by signing up for a sponsorship today!

Sponsorships are available at many levels starting with a tee sponsor at $175. New this year is a tent sponsor.  Businesses and organizations are invited to set up a tent at one of the tees and engage with the tournament golfers. “The tent sponsorship allows businesses to distribute company materials, hold a raffle or game…it’s really a great opportunity to do something fun on the golf course and gain exposure,” states Donna Rosenstock, Director of Resource Development for the Club.

Also new this year is the dinner and a comedy show to follow the tournament. For an additional $35/person, golfers are encouraged to invite a guest and be a part of the evening’s activities.

“Knowing this is our only golf tournament for the year, we stepped up and put together what we believe will be an amazing event with prizes, dinner, and comedy show,” states Susan Taylor, Executive Director of the Club.  “There is a great deal of excitement this year, especially knowing someone might take home a Jeep Wrangler from our new prize vault game! For $20 we’ll be selling opportunities to golfers and the public to guess the vault’s combination at the Amherst Country Club all afternoon!”

Members of the community are invited to participate in an open conversation with local legislative representatives about how substance abuse affects youth in our communities and how we can work together to educate and to promote healthy and safe activities. The meeting will be hosted on April 19th, 2013 from 8:00 - 9:30 a.m. by the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley, 56 Mont Vernon Street, Milford N.H. and CAST (Community Action for Safe Teens). At this legislative breakfast concerned citizens will have access to an open exchange of ideas and concerns.

CAST and the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley work together to promote healthy choices through awareness, action, and prevention of substance abuse. A committee of the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley, CAST has previously hosted "youth issues forums" to bring members of the community together to discuss issues affecting youth in our communities, provided leadership and advocacy training for teens, conducted a "sticker shock" campaign in local retail outlets to educate adults about purchasing alcohol for minors, and most recently formed a "flash mob" of local teen dancers who perform during halftimes at local high school basketball games to promote positive messages, healthy choices and raise awareness of CAST and its mission.
