BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF SOUHEGAN VALLEY TO PARTICIPATE IN NATIONAL FINE ARTS/DIGITAL ARTS PROGRAM

Milford, NH, February 6-8, 2015 -- The Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley is one of thousands of clubs across the country joining in a search to identify talented young artists. The competition is part of Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s (BGCA) National Fine Arts/Digital Arts Exhibit, a comprehensive initiative promoting young people’s creativity, and encouraging artistic skills and cultural enrichment.

As a participant in the National Fine Arts/Digital Arts Exhibit program, the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley may submit members’ artwork in four age divisions and 10 categories for the Fine Arts Exhibit, including watercolor, pastel, oil, acrylic and collage.  For the Digital Arts Exhibit we celebrate member creativity and technical ability in digital music making, photo illustration, movie making, and stop-motion animation, graphic and game design.  Selected artwork will be screened at the regional level and a limited number will be sent to BGCA’s Atlanta headquarters for judging at the national level.
Thirty- seven national winners will be named, with their artwork displayed at special events throughout the year.  Winning artists will also receive engraved plaques and letters of congratulations from BGCA President and CEO Jim Clark.  Regional finalists will receive a certificate of participation.

Art can be viewed during the weekend of the February 6, 7 & 8.   Doors will open at 6:30 PM.  This will be a reception to our dance show “The Art of Dance”. The festival is free, however, if you wish to stay for the dance show you can purchase tickets at the door and prices range from $12 for adults and $8 for seniors and students/ children.
